Part of my job was being the face of a multi-million dollar brand. Part of my job was being an invaluable marketing tool that interacted with consumers face-to-face, learning what really made them love our brand, then how to resonate with them as that brand. But most of my job was resisting the urge to wave at people when I found myself in a normal car. Can’t tell you how many times I flung an unsolicited wave at a random grandpa from the back seat of an Uber.

you can call me "Rose Beef"

I used to drive a Honda Civic. Then I drove a Wienermobile. I will never complain about parking again.

interview with delish - january 2018

This was one of the most bunderful experiences I’ve had on the road. It was definitely a bunce in a lifetime opportunity to interview with people this cool, and to officially knight “cold cutz Candace” as an Honorary Hotdogger. We had buns of fun together on a chilly dog day in NYC. Too many bun puns? Just bun more, please :)

If you look closely, you can see the deep fear in my eyes because this is my fourth day ever on the road, and lo and behold, there’s a Cosmo lady in my car asking me to drive around Columbus Circle.

interview with cosmopolitan - june 2017

This was also in NYC. Driving in traffic there is just like anywhere else, except that there are no rules. None. Traffic lights might as well be ugly trees with no authority. Want to run a red light? Go ahead! Want to switch lanes? Quick—before the car in your blind spot gets out of your way! Want to block an intersection with your Wienermobile and halt all traffic flow? Gold star!!!

You can’t exactly see me, but there I am, wrangling the Wienermobile at the command of a real-life film director from LA.

commercial with ford motor company - august 2017

The making of a car commercial is much more dramatic than you’d think. I got a full face of makeup professionally plastered on my face even though not one speck of my skin would be on screen. Very thorough. Also, my co-driver and I flipped a coin to determine who got to drive. I’m the lucky dog who won the toss. Always choose tails, people.

social media

Most of our duties as Hotdoggers were social media related, so my copywriter background was a chef’s kiss contribution here. We used Instagram and Twitter for our main consumer outreach and interaction—except for when they saw the Wienermobile in real life, of course. We also supplied all of the content used on Oscar Mayer’s social accounts, and you can my contributions see here:
